Calling out King

Bill Elliot of South Carolina has cancer.  He had an insurance plan with a premium of $180 a month and this plan covered almost everything from his pharmaceuticals to medical devices like MRI.  His plan also covered doctors whom he loved.  Sadly, Bill received a cancellation letter because of Obamacare.  Bill tried to find a new plan but all he could get was a $1,500 a month premium with a $13,500 deductible.  Under this new plan his medications and $3,000 per MRI will not be covered.   What makes this story sadder is that Bill is choosing to let nature take its course because he cannot afford the new healthcare plan.  He refuses to burden his family with this.

It’s a similar story for Edie Littlefield Sundby of California.  She is being forced to give up what she calls “world class insurance” due to Obamacare.  “Countless hours searching for non-exchange plans have uncovered nothing that compares well with my existing coverage. But the greatest source of frustration is Covered California, the state’s Affordable Care Act health-insurance exchange and, by some reports, one of the best such exchanges in the country. After four weeks of researching plans on the website, talking directly to government exchange counselors, insurance companies and medical providers, my insurance broker and I are as confused as ever. Time is running out and we still don’t have a clue how to best proceed.”  She can’t keep her healthcare plan or her doctor as the President promised.  In her own words “For a cancer patient, medical coverage is a matter of life and death.  Take away people’s ability to control their medical-coverage choices and they may die. I guess that’s a highly effective way to control medical costs.  Perhaps that’s the point.”

You know Mainers, as more and more stories like this begin to surface, it reminds me of  what Sen. Angus King (I-ME) said back in the end of September.  King told a reporter from Salon.com that those who urged college students to skip insurance “are guilty of murder in my opinion.”   I would like to remind Angus King of the Oath he took:

“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support the Constitution of the United States.”

Not only is it un-Constitutional to force people to buy something they don’t want or need in order to fund other’s insurance policies you down right called all opponents of ACA murderers.

Well, Angus King,  how ironic.   The Obama Administration is still pushing for Obamacare implementation despite the fact everything he told the American people turned out to be a lie, despite that the website has crashed, despite the fact that it’s Unaffordable, despite the fact that we cannot keep our policies or doctors, despite the fact that millions have lost their insurance, despite the fact that Obamacare is leaving a huge wake of economic destruction in its path…all because in their words “people are dying”.

So my question to Angus King is, if it’s ok to call people murderers then who are the murderers now?   Really, I’m not joking.   When we look at people like Bill Elliot and Edie Littlefield Sundby… Obamacare is forcing insurance policies to be cancelled and the alternatives are NOT affordable thus people are going to die.

It seems to me politicians making irresponsible statements just as King did, ought to be careful about how they talk about their own constituents.   They need to be held accountable for reckless judgments and policies.  President Obama is not my Dad nor is Angus King my Uncle Angus.   We the People are tired of the Ruling Class telling us they know better than we do how to live our lives.  We are tired of their hypocrisy of exempting themselves from the very legislation we are forced to partake in.  We are tired of the federal overreach into our private lives and choices.  We want choices, not legislation crammed down our throats and told to swallow whether we want to partake of it or not.  We want our legislators to remember the Constitution, to abide by the Constitution, to defend the Constitution. Angus King has not done that.1458669_10151758166010197_1514967447_n

Obamacare is one of the worst pieces of legislation to come through our government.  Instead of trying to figure out a way to help insure 15% of America’s population that is uninsured, President Obama’s healthcare initiative has completely undermined our entire healthcare system and crammed socialized medicine down our throats.  If socialized medicine is so awesome then why are they forcing it on us but exempting themselves?   Why not offer it as an alternative and those who want to partake  in it, do so?  Oh, that’s right. Socialized medicine doesn’t work unless everyone does it, and seeing how not everyone wants to do it they will force us too.

In Angus King’s own words, “”For people who do that to other people in the name of some obscure political ideology is one of the grossest violations of our humanity I can think of.  This absolutely drives me crazy.”

Why thank you Senator King.  I couldn’t have said it any better!

I would like to see Obamacare repealed.  There ARE other alternatives regardless of what the White House says.  The Republican Study Committee’s American Health Care Reform Act is one option we should study and seriously consider.  I know Dr. Ben Carson has spoken on other alternatives as well, like Health Savings Accounts.  All of these solutions would be better alternatives than what is being forced upon us right now.1004989_234044613419174_37803986_n
