Islam or Christianity – The Real Religion of Peace

September 15, 2014

On the eve of 9/11, our President, responding to political pressure, took the opportunity to make a campaign speech. In it he outlined his evolving strategy to deal with the threat from ISIL/ISIS and the Islamic Caliphate. But in doing so, he again showed that he is the Islamic Apologist in Chief. “ISIL is not Islamic,” the President said. “No religion condones the killing of innocents.” Really, Mr. President? Isn’t that is like trying to explain how Hitler wasn’t a Nazi, or Mao a Communist?

But your statement is interesting, Mr. President, since ISIS even has Islam in their name (The acronym ISIS stands for: “Islamic State of Iraq and Syria.”). They follow the Koran, pray five times a day, and do Jihad shouting “Allah Akbar” while they commit their atrocities in the name of Islam. Mr. President, did you miss all that?

Of course, he didn’t miss all that. We know exactly what he is doing. In every speech, he carefully states that Islam is a religion of peace while the Radical Jihadists are an anomaly, somehow outside the mainstream of Islam. It is the reverse of what he and the progressives do with Christianity. Any atrocity done by a Christian is considered normative, and we are all branded as hate mongering, narrow minded bigots. But you can’t say anything like that about Islam. To him and the progressives, there has to be a moral equivalence between the religions. Thus, they claim, Islam is really no different than Christianity. But that is absolute hooey, a total fabrication.

True, there have been atrocities committed in the name of Christianity. They are really quite rare though. But there have been a none-ending stream of atrocities committed in the name of Islam. Is there are difference? Of course! And this is the reason: Anyone committing an atrocity in the name of Christianity is acting contrary to their religion, while a Moslem committing an atrocity is following theirs. Peaceful Moslems are really the anomaly. You can see this by looking at the example of the founders of the two religions and the writings of the Holy Scriptures they left behind.

Take Mohammad, for instance. He spread his newly formed religion by the sword. According to “The Sira”, the “Autobiography Of Mohammed” by Ibn Hisham,
Mohammed himself ordered a mass beheading of 600-800 males of the Jewish Tribe, Banu Qurayza in 627 AD. Three of his wives were Jewish slaves taken as booty by raids just like ISIS is doing today. Modern radical jihadists are simply following their leader when they behead their enemies and kidnap young girls as sex slaves.

And they follow the literal reading of the Koran. Here are just a few verses that guide the Jihadist:

Quran (2:191-193) – “And kill them wherever you find them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out. And Al-Fitnah [disbelief] is worse than killing…but if they desist, then lo! Allah is forgiving and merciful. And fight them until there is no more Fitnah [disbelief and worshipping of others along with Allah] and worship is for Allah alone. But if they cease, let there be no transgression except against Az-Zalimun (the polytheists, and wrong-doers, etc.)”

Quran (2:216) – “Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth, and ye know not.”

Quran (3:56) – “As to those who reject faith, I will punish them with terrible agony in this world and in the Hereafter, nor will they have anyone to help.”

Quran (3:151) – “Soon shall We cast terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers, for that they joined companions with Allah, for which He had sent no authority”.

Quran (4:74) – “Let those fight in the way of Allah who sell the life of this world for the other. Whoso fighteth in the way of Allah, be he slain or be he victorious, on him We shall bestow a vast reward.”

Quran (4:95) – “Not equal are those believers who sit (at home) and receive no hurt, and those who strive and fight in the cause of Allah with their goods and their persons. Allah hath granted a grade higher to those who strive and fight with their goods and persons than to those who sit (at home). Unto all (in Faith) Hath Allah promised good: But those who strive and fight Hath He distinguished above those who sit (at home) by a special reward,-”

Quran (5:33) – “The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His messenger and strive to make mischief in the land is only this, that they should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides or they should be imprisoned; this shall be as a disgrace for them in this world, and in the hereafter they shall have a grievous chastisement”

Quran (8:12) – “I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them”

How can President Obama say that ISIS is not Islam? They follow the Koran to the letter when they strike off the heads of their enemies. All the modern Islamic terrorist organizations follow the Koran to the letter. The founder of the Muslim Brotherhood, Hasan al-Banna (1906-1949) of Egypt, said: “It is the nature of Islam to dominate, not to be dominated, to impose its law on all nations, and to extend its power to the entire planet.” That is the philosophy that guides Islam.

When the planes flew into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, the nineteen men who flew the planes were promised that their suicide mission would send them straight to Paradise and net them 72 virgins. In Islam, if your good deeds outweigh your bad deeds, you enter Paradise. But according to the Koran, martyrs killed in the fight for Allah (Jihad) will go straight to Paradise. That is the ultimate good deed.

Lawrence Wright, in his Pulitzer Prize-winning book The Looming Tower: Al-Qaeda and the Road to 9/11, writes: “Martyrdom promised such young men an ideal alternative to a life that was so sparing in its rewards. A glorious death beckoned to the sinner, who would be forgiven, it is said, with the first spurt of blood, and he would behold his place in Paradise even before his death. Seventy members of his household might be spared the fires of hell because of his sacrifice. The martyr who is poor will be crowned in heaven with a jewel more valuable than the earth itself. And for those young men who came from cultures where women are shuttered away and rendered unattainable for someone without prospects, martyrdom offered the conjugal pleasures of seventy-two virgins—‘the dark-eyed houris,’ as the Quran describes them, ‘chaste as hidden pearls.’ They awaited the martyr with feats of meat and fruit and cups of the purest wine.”

Robert Spencer author of many books, including Arab Winter Comes to America agrees: “The thing is though that Jihad is the best deed of all and outweighs all the others, and so if you’re waging Jihad you essentially have a free pass to do whatever you want otherwise because none of the bad deeds you’re going to do are going to outweigh your great deed of Jihad.” That is Islam, and contrary to what our President claims, it is perfectly represented in ISIS.

Now what about Jesus, the one Christians follow? 1st Peter 2:23 tells us of Him: “Who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously.” Jesus willingly laid down His life for those who were His enemies. Romans 5:8-10 teaches this: “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.” When Jesus was arrested and placed on trial before Pilate, accused of claiming to be king of the Jews, He told Pilate that His kingdom was not of this world. Jesus never killed anyone, never ordered anyone’s death, and never asked His followers to resist.

To His followers, He left the teaching of the Sermon on the Mount, which is often called the greatest moral treatise ever. In it He commanded in Matthew 5:9, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.” He told us how to deal with those who would misuse us in Matthew 5:38-42: “You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’ But I tell you not to resist an evil person. But whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also. If anyone wants to sue you and take away your tunic, let him have your cloak also. And whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two. Give to him who asks you, and from him who wants to borrow from you do not turn away.”

In dealing with our enemies, Jesus told us this in Matthew 5:43-45, “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.”

There could not be a greater contrast between the religions founded by Mohammad and Jesus. The way a Muslim would live by following the example and teaching of their leader is diametrically opposed to the way a Christian is commanded to live. When a Muslim commits an atrocity, he is acting according to his religion. When a Christian commits an atrocity, he is acting against his religion.

When Christians are in power, everyone has peace. When Muslims are in power, they will enforce Sharia Law. According to Adriana Cohen, of the Boston Herald,
“Under Sharia Law, women have virtually zero rights and are routinely raped, beaten and sold off as sex slaves or child brides. Many are forced to wear a burqa and can’t even show their faces in public. Women and girls are abused, tortured, stoned, gang-raped or outright killed if they do anything their male rulers deem wrong.”

President Obama should clearly see the difference. Everyone should see the difference. The other night on one of the talk shows, Charlie Rose and Bill Maher were discussing this. Rose, another Islamic apologist, claimed a “vast number of Christians too” hold violent beliefs.

“No, that’s not true. Not true,” Maher proclaimed. “Vast numbers of Christians do not believe that if you leave the Christian religion you should be killed for it. Vast numbers of Christians do not treat women as second class citizens. Vast numbers of Christians do not believe if you draw a picture of Jesus Christ you should get killed for it.”

When Rose asked Maher how he knows that “vast majorities of Muslims” actually “condone violence,” he said many Muslims “shout it.” He also cited a Pew poll conducted in Egypt previously that showed more than 80 percent of Muslims believe stoning is an appropriate punishment for adultery. “So, to claim that this religion is like other religions is just naive and plain wrong. It is not like other religions,” Maher added.

No, Islam is not like other religions. It is not the religion of peace. But Christianity is. Throughout time, Christians have willing sacrificed their lives as martyrs without fighting back, and they did so as victims, not aggressors. Muslims martyrs die regularly as the aggressors blowing up innocent people.

Let me close with these words from Michele Malkin,
“9/11 wasn’t the first. 9/11 won’t be the last. It’s not ‘fear-mongering’ to face reality. These head-chopping, throat-slitting, bloodthirsty hijackers — of planes, freedom and civilization — have conspired for decades to inflict modern mass murder on the West. Their homicidal mission is spectacular destruction in the name of the Koran. Never forget: Eternal Muslim hatred of infidels didn’t start with George W. Bush. Or George Herbert Walker Bush. Or Ronald Reagan. Or the creation of Gitmo. Or the birth of Israel. Or the Twin Towers. Or the Khobar Towers. Or Lockerbie. Or the U.S.S. Cole. Or Fort Hood. Or the Beirut Marine barracks bombings. Or the bombings of the U.S. embassy in Africa, the bombing of U.S. military headquarters in Riyadh and the attack on the U.S. embassy in Benghazi.” No, they began in the very foundations of their religion.
To try and whitewash the evil face of Islam, as our president has done, is naïve and dangerous. To paint Christianity, the true religion of peace, as evil is the height of evil.
